Form of Government
The City of Grinnell has a Mayor-Council with appointed City Manager form of government.
A Mayor and two council members elected by the city as whole (at large)
All council members to be elected to four-year staggered terms
Four council members elected by ward
As the policymakers, the City Council passes resolutions and ordinances, approves the budget, appoints citizens to advisory boards, and hires the City Manager who is directly responsible to the Mayor and City Council for the administration and implementation of policies, rules, and regulations directed by that body.
