Central Park Project

Plans are underway to improve Central Park. Proposed improvements include a new shelter with fireplace and restrooms, a covered/raised stage, and a natural play space.

Fundraising

Private donations totaling $1 million will be needed to make the proposed plan a reality. The total project is estimated to cost $3.5 million, with more than $2 million in grants from the Iowa Reinvestment Act, Iowa Great Places, and hotel-motel taxes. 

The Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation (GPCF) will serve as fiscal agent for the park project, generating, receiving and acknowledging contributions.
