The Grinnell Police Department and the Grinnell Optimist Club are sponsoring the “National Night Out” event again this year. This is Grinnell’s 9th year participating in this nationwide event. This year’s event is scheduled for Tuesday August 7th, 2012 from 6:30pm until 8:00pm. This event encourages people to get involved in their neighborhood and meet with their neighbors. It also enables people from the community to meet and greet their local Police, Firefighters, and EMS personnel enhancing the relationship between the community and Public Safety Personnel. This year’s event will take place at three locations, Merrill Park in Ward I, Bailey Park in Ward II, and Central Park for Ward’s III and IV.
