[ARCHIVED] Citizen's Police Academy

The Grinnell Police Department is now accepting applications for the Spring 2016 Citizen's Police Academy. This seven week class meets on Tuesday evenings starting March 22nd with the final class scheduled for May 3rd. Classes run from 6 p.m. to approximately 8:30 p.m. Topics include: Defensive Tactics, Operating While Intoxicated, Investigations, Drug Investigations, Criminal Law, Testifying in Court, and Mock Crime Scenes, among many others. Attendees will get a synopsis overview of how police officers do their jobs on a daily basis. Citizens wishing to participate are encouraged to stop by the Grinnell Police Department and pick up an application packet. Citizens may also contact Officers Michael Dickenson or Bryce Doane with any questions at 641-236-2670. Deadline for applications is March 1st.
