Phase 5 of the Central Business District reconstruction continues with Broad Street completely open by Friday, Aug. 5th. Park Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 9th. This closure includes the intersection of Park and 3rd and approximately a 1/2 block West on 3rd Avenue. The intersection of Park and 4th will remain open. Park Street between 4th and 5th Avenues will be poured beginning Friday, Aug. 5th with sidewalks and driveway approaches to follow.

Phase 5 will take place over the 2016 and 2017 construction seasons. During 2016 reconstruction will take place on Broad Street between 1st and 3rd Avenues, followed by Park Street from 4th to 5th. Park Street between 3rd and 4th and 3rd Avenue between Broad and Park Streets will close out the work for the year. In 2017 work will be completed on Broad Street between 5th and 6th Avenues and 5th Avenue from Broad to State Streets.

Like the previous four phases, the street surface will be removed, underground infrastructure replaced, street resurfaced, and sidewalks and lighting replaced or added. Phase 5 will complete the street upgrades planned for the central business district.
