[ARCHIVED] Hydrants Running During Water Tower Inspection

Five hydrants in the city will serve as pressure relief valves during the annual water tower inspection the week of August 8th. (This inspection was originally scheduled for July but had to be postponed until August.)

The water tower will be drained for an inspection of the inside. To prevent a build-up of pressure in the water system, the five hydrants will flow water at various times during the day and night. Those hydrants are as follows:

  • Main Street & 2nd Avenue (water plant)
  • South curve of Zimmerman Drive
  • 1500 Block of 3rd Avenue
  • Spaulding Lane & Jewel Drive
  • 8th Avenue & Sunset Street (Aquatic Center)

Citizens should be assured that water pressure and availability will continue as normal during the inspection. The water tower will be back on-line by the end of the week.
