Thursday night's storm left a number of branches and trees down. City crews will be clearing streets and sidewalks of downed trees and branches starting Friday, Aug. 5th. Starting Monday, Aug. 8th, city crews will pick up any storm debris piled at the curb making one trip through the entire city throughout the course of the week.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 5th, through next Thursday, Aug. 11th, fees at the brush & compost facility will be waived for city of Grinnell residents. I.D.'s will be checked to verify addresses. In addition to its regular hours the brush & compost facility will be open Friday, Aug. 5th from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
