Construction in Central Park is nearing completion. Assembly and installation of primary park lighting is underway, tree protectors that are no longer needed are being removed, play equipment has been installed and the stage is 95% complete. The key remaining work includes installation of the fall zone surface at the playground equipment, continued installation of park lighting, installation of all of the brick pavers, finish grading, grass seeding, landscaping, a small amount of concrete needs to be poured, and some finishing touches like signage. The park will have an irrigation water pipe looped throughout the park allowing the city to water as needed to establish grass and other landscaping. Progress continues toward a goal of making the park available for the Ag Appreciation event scheduled for Aug. 31st. The park should be largely complete and available for use at the event; however newly seeded grass areas will need to be protected.
