The new traffic lights at the intersection of Hwy 6 and Hwy 146 are up and running. In addition to the traditional red, yellow, and green lights, the new signals include turning arrows:

• Left turn arrows for Northbound West Street (Hwy 146) and Westbound 6th Avenue (Hwy 6): This means that southbound West Street and Eastbound 6th Avenue may have a delayed green signal in order for these left turn movements to take place. The system senses the traffic and reacts accordingly. If you should see traffic opposite you moving, while you still have a red signal, this is why. The delayed green signal is not substantial.
• Green right turn arrow for Northbound West Street (Hwy 146): This is designed to permit those right turns when there is no conflicting traffic.

These changes are designed for an efficient flow of traffic.
