With the recent heavy snowfall the Public Service Department staff has some winter weather reminders for residents and business owners: Snow or ice deposits from driveways or parking lots should not be pushed into the traveled portion of streets or alleys. Nor should snow be pushed onto property that is not your own. City crews are allowed to push snow and ice onto the right of way when clearing streets and intakes to ensure streets are safe and snow melt is allowed to access the storm water system. (The right of way is generally considered to be the area between the street and public sidewalk.)
In order to keep your children and families safe do not allow children to play on snow mounds near city streets or along the highways.
