Media Release - April 12, 2019
The Grinnell Police Department would like to make the public aware of two incidents that have occurred recently where teen aged females have been approached by a male driving a light-colored SUV, possibly a Chevy. Both females reported they were walking, during day light hours, and a male in the previously described vehicle stopped, got out and engaged the females in conversation, asking personal questions about where they live, go to school, and saying such things as, "see you later."
Understandably these females were nervous and uncomfortable with a strange male engaging them in this manner. If anyone has information about these incidents, please contact the police department as we would like to speak with the male driver.
As always be aware of your surroundings and report any such incidents to the police immediately.
Therese Petersen, Captain, Grinnell Police Department
