[ARCHIVED] SCISWA to Resume Accepting Household Hazardous Waste

South Central Iowa Solid Waste Agency will resume the Household Hazardous Waste disposal program on Wednesday July 8 by appointment only.

Appointments for HHM disposal are available on Wednesdays only at the SCISWA Landfill in Tracy and Transfer Station in Malcom. Materials accepted include fluorescent bulbs, rechargeable batteries, spray paint, oil paint, and household chemicals. For a complete list of accepted wastes or for more information about this program visit

Call to set an appointment for Wednesday during the hours of 7:30am – 3:00 pm:

SCISWA Landfill, 1736 Hwy T-17 in Tracy, Iowa; 641-828-8545.

or SCISWA Transfer Station, 1163 US 6 in Malcom, Iowa; 641-528-2801.

This program is free to Lucas, Marion, Monroe and Poweshiek County residents; businesses and farms will be subject to fees.
