Building and Planning Information: |
| 1. |
Permits and inspections are required
on all construction including accessory buildings, portable sheds, and fences. |
| 2. |
All stages of new construction or
additions (site work, building, electrical,
mechanical, and plumbing) can be included
in the original building permit application. |
| 3. |
A full set of plans and specifications
should accompany all applications. |
| 4. |
Plans and specifications must be reviewed
to meet minimum model code requirements
adopted by the city of Grinnell. |
| 5. |
All permits are based on the estimated
cost of construction. |
| 6. |
All permits should be obtained and
all fees paid prior to the beginning of
construction. |

on your PC to view and print these
applications.

Once you open the appropriate application,
just print it out, complete the
form and contact the Building &
Planning Department at Grinnell's
Community Center, 927 4th Avenue
(641-236-2609) to obtain the current
permit fees or to talk to a staff
member.
