On June 7, 2004, the "City of Grinnell Comprehensive Plan 2004" was adopted by Resolution No. 2667 after being signed by Mayor Gordon Canfield and by City Clerk Cassie Hage. An online copy can be obtained by clicking on "Comprehensive Plan" on the left sidebar of this web page.

In 2006, the City Council adopted Addendum 1 to address concerns that arose as the Highway 146 South Corridor from Garfield Avenue to Interstate 80 was being developed. Some of the items addressed in this addendum include: Highway Entry Points, Street Lighting, Architectural Standards, Current Structures, Trees and Plantings, Bike Trails, Speed Limits, and Airport - 2nd Runway Glide Slope.
