The Mayor's Welcome

The City of Grinnell has recently completed the reconstruction of the Central Business District.

New streets, brick-trimmed sidewalks, and granite planters at every intersection of the pathways make a welcoming environment for shoppers and people attending to their business in downtown Grinnell.

Three capital improvement projects are currently underway benefiting the community of Grinnell and the citizens of Poweshiek County:

A new public library building at the corner of 5th Avenue and Park Street.

A new public safety building at 6th Avenue and Spring Street.

In addition, a campaign has begun to raise funds for a new family aquatic center to be situated in the Northwest corner of Grinnell creating a recreational campus encompassing the Grinnell Area Recreational Trail and a revamped Lion's Park.
