The City of Grinnell has recently completed the reconstruction of the Central Business District.

New streets, brick-trimmed sidewalks, and granite planters at every intersection of the pathways make a welcoming environment for shoppers and people attending to their business in downtown Grinnell.

Three capital improvement projects have also recently been completed benefiting the community of Grinnell and the citizens of Poweshiek County:

A new public library building at the corner of 5th Avenue and Park Street.

A new public safety building at 6th Avenue and Spring Street.

A new family aquatic center situated in the Northwest corner of Grinnell creating a recreational campus encompassing the Grinnell Area Recreational Trail and a revamped Lion's Park.
