Drake Community Library will reopen its doors to the public on Monday, May 3rd. Access to library services will resume to pre-pandemic conditions with minor modifications related to limiting the spread of COVID-19. Modifications include mask-wearing by staff and library visitors, as well as limited capacity in meeting rooms. Curbside pick-up of materials will continue for those who require that service.
Outreach via virtual programming will continue as a component of the summer learning program for youth. In addition to the library stacks, library visitors will have access to the Friends of Drake Community Library bookstore.
“Opening doors for people is what the public library is all about,” says Marilyn Kennett, Library Director. “While we have done our best to maintain all services during a pandemic, we are certainly looking forward to connecting with people inside the library again,” said Kennett.
Hours of operation are Monday – Wednesday, 10am-6pm; Thursdays, 10am-8pm; and Saturdays, 10am-2pm for the month of May. Full summer hours will resume in June.
