Nomination papers for city elected offices can be filed at City Hall (520 4th Ave) weekdays beginning Monday, August 28th through 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 21st. In 2023 the following city offices will be up for regular election: Mayor, 2nd Ward Council Member, 4th Ward Council Member, and At-Large Council Member.

The United States Air Force Heartland of America Band will perform live music of all genres on the Central Park stage as part of their Labor Day Weekend Tour. This event is sponsored by the Grinnell Veterans Memorial Commission.
