I plan to use a substantial amount of water outside, can I get credit on the sewer charges for this water?
Yes, provided you obtain an outside water meter from the water department prior to using the water. There is a $20 charge for use of the meter. At the current rates 400 cubic feet of water needs to be used to cover the $20 charge. 400 cubic feet is roughly equal to 3000 gallons. To obtain an outside watering meter call the water plant at 641-236-2635. For more information see the Outside Watering Meters webpage.Outside Watering Meters
