Water

The water plant is located at at 702 Main Street just north of the water tower. The plant has 4 operators with a Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 12:00 noon and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM schedule. The water department staff is responsible for maintenance and operation of the water plant process operations, the city water mains prior to any and all service connections, and the 5 city wells along with their respective transmission lines. Our goal is to ensure the highest quality of water and an adequate supply for drinking as well as fire protection.

Water System Improvement Projects

Beginning in 2024 and continuing through 2026 the city of Grinnell will be constructing a new one million gallon water tower and new drinking water treatment plant.
