The owner of any property abutting a public sidewalk shall maintain the sidewalk in a safe and hazard-free condition. This maintenance includes removal of snow and ice accumulations as well as any debris that could cause injury to any person, animal, or vehicle.
A permit is required to remove, reconstruct, or install a sidewalk. Permit fees are only collected for sidewalk construction where there is none currently existing.
