Charges

The utility bill charges consist of:

• Water
• Sewer
• Sanitation
• Stormwater
• Miscellaneous Fees (i.e., special trash pick-ups, frozen meter charges, surcharges, etc.)

There is always a utility bill associated with a property in the city limits. Properties with water turned off will still incur a stormwater fee.

Billing Process

Customers receive utility bills every month. Bills are mailed or e-mailed at the end of each month and are due on the 15th of the month. Request e-mail bill

While the account is in their name, customers are responsible for all billings.

Payments

Utility bill payments can be made as follows:

• By mail to 520 4th Ave Grinnell, IA 50112 (allow at least three days for delivery)
• At the utility counter inside City Hall
• At the drop box located north of City Hall (across 4th Avenue)
• Automatic clearing house payment (ACH) option (H2O Direct), where payments are automatically deducted from the customer's checking or savings account on the due date
• Online through a bank's online bill pay option (note: some banks send a paper check, allow time for paper check printing and delivery)
• Online or by phone via Payment Service Network.
